A car as a gift for the Home Hospice

The Home Hospice in Bytów has been operating for 10 years, helping the most seriously ill. On the 13 June Drutex donated a modern car that facilitates healthcare directly at the patients’ homes. This is another support that the Bytów company offered to medical facilities. 

The car was given over by  Leszek Gierszewski,  DRUTEX founder and president, and the vice president  Kamila Gierszewska.

- It is and amazing, grand gesture of goodness and love from the Gierszewski family. With support of such people, helping the sick, which is the mission of our hospice, is definitely easier and more effective. We greatly appreciate that -  said Paweł Wichłacz who runs the Home Hospice in Bytów. 

DRUTEX has supported healthcare for ages, not just in the Pomerania, but all over the country. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the initiative initiated by Leszek Gierszewski, DRUTEX founder and president, made big waves. It was a common action of the Polish business ‘’Helping. Together’’. Polish hospitals received aid worth over 50 million PLN. DRUTEX itself donated more than four million zlotys. 

This year the Bytów company also supported a hospital in Kościerzyna, this time donating means to equip the Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Locomotor System. It purchased a mobile set for conducting arthroscopic surgeries. 

- Cooperation with DRUTEX is highly valuable for us, and their commitment to improving the conditions for treating patients in the Pomerania region and all over the country, is admirable – points out Marzena Mrozek, the board chairman of the Specialized Hospital in Kościerzyna Ltd. 

In the recent weeks DRUTEX also financed the renovation of the Department of Pediatric Surgery in the Janusz Korczak Regional Specialized Hospital in Slupsk. The interior was taken to a new level, which enhances work comfort for the staff and it also speeds up the recovery of small, brave patients. 

- Helping is in our DNA, and supporting i.a. healthcare facilities is natural for the company. We are aware of their importance for the health of people in our region and country, as well as their huge needs. This is why, for many years, we have been helping to equip them and to increase the standard of the treatment – says Adam Leik, HR director in DRUTEX.

All the CSR initiatives conducted by DRUTEX SA allowed Leszek Gierszewski, DRUTEX founder and president, to gain the Philanthropist of the Year title in 2020, according to Forbes.  „Leszek Gierszewski, the company founder and president, set an example of what Corporate Social Responsibility is about’’ – states the justification for the award.
