Drutex engages in initiatives for children

On Saturday 11 June two special events dedicated to children take place in Słupsk, that is  Children’s Cycling Race and Children’s Flea Market. Both events are organized as educational initiatives and support in child’s development. The main sponsor is Drutex,  the leading producer of windows, doors and roller shutters in Europe, that has been promoting activities in corporate social responsibility, sports and culture for ages.  

The ‘Głos Pomorza’ Children’s Cycling Race will take place for the 44th time at the 650^th Anniversary Stadium in Słupsk, and each year it attracts whole families who cheer their children. Children born between 2007 and 2014 are welcome to take part in the race, and the little cyclists ride distances that are proper for their age: 3- and 4-year olds – 40 meters, 5- and 6-year olds – 60 meters, 7- and 8-year olds – 80 meters and 9- and 10-year olds – 100 meters. The organizers have prepared surprises at the finish line for all children, and the three winners of each race will stand on the podium and they will receive special awards. Children’s Cycling Race is a great way to promote healthy lifestyle and sport among the youngest ones, as well as a perfect way to spend time together at the family picnic. The little ones will be welcome to the fun zone with inflatables and games run by animators.

The active participation in actions regarding corporate social responsibility gives us an impulse to regularly  support initiatives organized by the Kiwanis Słupia Club Foundation.  

„This year we are again involved in the action organized by the Kiwanis Foundation that aims at active support of children in the development of their entrepreneurship and work ethics.  The Children’s Flea Market is a perfect way to teach the rules of smart housekeeping in fun and family atmosphere. We are keen on all initiatives that promote education, i.a. among the youngest ones. We are happy to observe each year bigger and bigger involvement of children who are enthusiastic to participate in the action’’ – says Adam Leik, marketing director at Drutex.

The Kiwanis Association Słupia Club has been implementing the ‘Children’s Flea Market’ project since 2005. Traditionally, the event takes place at the Fisherman’s Market next to the Słupsk Museum. The project is aimed at children up to 12 years old. Children who take part in the event may sell their plush toys, books, CDs, toys etc., things that they don’t use anymore. The organizers also guarantee great  event setting.  The stage at the Fisherman’s Market features performance of children who  are centered around Słupsk cultural organizations. Money raised at the auction will go to children causes.
