Drutex Produces Face Shields Another Hospital Helped

Drutex S.A. is ramping up the fight with its COVIC-19 coronavirus support campaign. After donating 1.5 million zloty, the Bytovian company began production of professional protective equipment. The first batch of face shields is already in the hands of doctors at the Janusz Korczak’s Voivodeship Specialized Hospital in Słupsk. The equipment is also used by Drutex employees.

“The timing of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is a test for all of us. We are well aware of the scale of the challenges that are faced in this period, especially for medical workers who have a key role in the campaign.

We feel the need and that it is our duty to deliver all the help we can. We want to be actively supporting doctors, nurses and paramedics—the real heroes of these uncertain times. Understanding that there is an enormous demand for safety equipment inspired us to manufacture professional face shields. Currently we have plans to produce several thousand of those shields, with standards according to government requirements and doctors’ guidelines, which are made with our modern machinery. We do the best we can by continuing to push forward.” Leszek Gierszewski, CEO of Drutex S.A.

Drutex has a strong duty of care towards its employees and their safety. Special safety procedures have been implemented throughout the period of the pandemic, to avoid infection and support the continuity of employment as well as the continuity of production.

Production of Drutex’s face shields is also supported by its partners Wadim-Plast, Alexander and Trefl which enables further help for hospitals from the Bytovian company.

In March, Drutex donated specialized equipment and extensive financial support for renovations and additional equipment to four Pomeranian hospitals to initiate the campaign “Together We Stand”. Until now, the campaign founded by Leszek Gierszewski has been joined by several dozen partners from various branches of business. So far, the campaign has raised 23 million zloty. Hospitals have received many items including safety equipment and high-end medical equipment.
