Emotions on the track, DRUTEX supports young speedway entrants
Tyler Haupt has won the Golden Boy Trophy Zenon Plech award. DRUTEX again was the sponsor of the elite tournament that hosts the youngest speedway entrants not only from Poland, but also from Denmark or Germany.
This year’s edition took place on 1 July on the Gdansk mini track that is located near the stadium where the Wybrzeże team members compete – in 1 Zawodników street. Young contestants, aged 10-14, took part in the competition aged, training and competing in speedway on motorcycles with engine capacity 80-125 cm3. Not only did they race on the track, they also could meet the legends of the sport, such as the four-time world champion Hans Nielsen and Marvyn Cox, Grzegorz Dzikowski or Roman Jankowski.
The Gdańsk competition was filled with emotions. The final winner was Tyler Haupt from Germany. The Polish young competitors did not achieve a podium result. The best of them was Franciszek Szczyrba who took the fourth place.

The Golden Boy Trophy competition commemorates Zenon Plech – one of the best world speedway riders. During his career his nickname was the Golden Boy. He passed away in November 2020. The competition is organized by his son.
